What are you selling?

Your tagline should not be your website’s H1 header on the home page.

What are you trying to sell? Real examples (from sports sites, duh!):

“Make sports happen”

“Fuel the fandom”

“Explore the power of AI-powered storytelling”

“Data-fueled. Results Driven.”

“A Smarter way to a stronger life”

It’s not bad to have your tagline on your website. But I don’t know what you are trying to solve or sell. Does your audience? These headers are also not terribly informative. Or attention-grabbing.

With sports tech as my primary focus, my research shows:

  • Questionable messaging and positioning

  • Unclear audiences

  • Lack of clear calls to action

But clearly, product marketing is here to stay. I’m here for a conversation.

Anyone disagree?
